Tesla Rocks, Who Would Have Thought?
If I had asked you to pick one stock of the following five to own from the start of Q4 (October 1st) and hold through the year end, which would you have chosen?
From Bloomberg this morning:
China can implement more active fiscal policy, Xu Zhong head of PBOC’s research bureau says at forum in Beijing.
- Shortage of effective demand is the main problem in China economy currently
- Effectiveness of China’s monetary policy depends on health of financial system
We at Minter find that this is an interesting statement that the Chinese have more to go when trying to stimulate their economy, but also highlights need for stable financial system.
The global corporate and high yield markets in fixed income are starting to appear shaky and we note that Elizabeth Warren, a potential Democratic presidential candidate and longtime critic of Wall street, was out warning that the leveraged loan market in the U.S. could be a repeat of the subprime mortgage crisis we experienced 10 years ago.
We will hear more I the days ahead about the markets not needing more hikes from the Fed, that the markets need China and the U.S. to find common ground on trade, that Brexit needs a solution and that the EU and Italy should play nice…
For today we look for a bounce in the U.S. equity markets into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but we are expecting to see the market lower into the year end, while we await some of the key issues to be addressed or kicked down the road. Look for the US500 CFD (S&P) to test the 2700-2725 level into tomorrow.
